Zur Prävention des Phänomens “Happy Slapping” ist es wichtig, dass Kinder und Jugendliche wissen, dass Gewalt und deren Verbreiten strafbar ist. Erreicht wird das durch die Vermittlung von Medienkompetenz seitens der Lehrer, Erzieher und Eltern. Das bedeutet, dass die Kinder und Jugendlichen lernen, was mit dem Handy erlaubt ist und was nicht, daher ist eine Aufklärung über das „Happy Slapping“ von grosser Bedeutung.
